Weekly Update #4

Good afternoon everyone!! And welcome to Weekly update #4!

My apologies on being late once more. I’ll try not to make a habit of it ^^’

I hope you all had a WONDEROUS Holiday with your family and friends.

This past week was full of last-minute run arounds, stress, strange happenings, and happy moments.

The run around wasn’t too bad just a little painful but totally worth it to see the faces of family members when they opened their gifts.

We kept our gatherings very small and did some video calls as well. Played some board games together like Drangonball Z Clue (didn’t even know that existed!) and Tetris! Which is a bit odd as a board game but fun nonetheless. My kids got a decent number of nice things, including an item or my daughter that she’s been wanting for years. I so happy to finally make that happen for her. :’)

Played Tekken, demon slayer, and DBZ fighters, and Naruto with my son as well. I tell ya I feel so old playing games now a days. Especially fighting games. I better remember how to play or catch on quick, because if not, I’m getting wiped! X’D

But enough of that. Small Art Update:

I wasn’t able to take time to work on “All in the End” until yesterday. I wanted to enjoy some time with my family before we all get back to the grind. I’m almost done with inking Cages and have Blood bath waiting in the wings to be inked.

I’m... decently happy with how caged is turning out. I was having some design issues with this one. But I think I did okay.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a good recording of the process. But I won’t give up. I’m going to try and get a proper phone holder beginning of next year and get some done right.

Soon the new year will upon us, and I have loads of plans!

The most important thing is, I am trying to move. (I have been trying for about 2 months.) I live in a small 2Bedroom with my kids and 2 ESA cats for quite some time and for health and safety I need to move. (My face is about 5ft away from the stove) since I’m using a housing voucher, I’ve had a hard time and haven’t had any luck. (Pretty much people not calling back as son as they hear “voucher”. OR scams) But there was good news this year and the vouchers have been increased and hopefully I’ll be able to find a nice place for me and my family. FINGERS CROSSED!

While taking care of that I’ll of course be working on “All in the End.”

As I stated before I wanted the comic to be done by the new year. I had high hopes but as the day gets closer, I must face the truth…. I will not be done.

But that’s okay! I won’t stop and I will finish this. But it’s a New Year and I don’t want to keep you all in the dark anymore.

By mid-January. I will be posting the pages the I have already finished. As well as progress shot of upcoming pages. Progress shots with be posted to my Instagram, twitter, and in my gallery under Progress Shots – “All in the End”(coming soon). I also give daily updates on my twitter with what’s going on with me and where I’m at with my art. Wanna be in the know? Gimme a follow!

While working on the comic I will be working on 5 more mindscape coloring pages for the new year called New Beginnings. There is a possibility that I will do some Valentines Day ones as well.

Now that I have a Cricut Maker I have a reason to buy new ink! I will be experimenting with my new toy and will post some of my successful and not so successful projects. But don’t worry my main focus will be getting the comic done.

Also, for the new year I plan to draw and sketch a lot more. Doing the comic is great but I feel I need to shake off some more rust and do some daily works. I will be sharing all my sketch on my twitter and Instagram. The sketches will be anything form random ideas, DTIYS(Draw This in Your Style), Oc’s (mine and others), fanarts and doodles.

Now I know you’ve all been, thinking okay, cool, but about the strange happenings O_O

Well, here you go.

It started on thanksgiving. I heard a knock on the door, but I was half asleep, so I was moving slow. I get to the door there’s no one there. I open the door to see if it was an amazon box since I had ordered Christmas gifts early.

Nope.

It was a food order, a Hello Fresh order to be exact, but I didn’t order anything from them. I called amazon (thinking it shipped from them) and the food company (realizing it wasn’t) and let them know this is not mine. It had my address but not my name or phone number. They apologized, canceled the orders and said please enjoy the food.

Then a received another box from a different company, and yet another box form yet another company. I was getting really concerned for this person who wasn’t receiving their food. Each time I received a box I called the food companies explaining the situation and canceled the orders once more. They apologize and said, please enjoy the food. (Which we did) I even tried calling the number on the box listed under the other persons name. No answer. Only rings.

But the food boxes had finally stopped coming so I left it alone. Fast forward to Christmas Eve.

I received YET ANOTHER FOOD BOX! I don’t mind the free food, but this is insane! I went straight for calling the person the box belonged to.

It rings…

And rings…

And then an answer!

It was a woman in a hospital room extremely destressed and asking me to call a detective. Her building needed to be sealed; there’s a problem in the building. It’s not safe. But it was hard to make out some of the things she was saying. This went on for a few minutes. I really wanted off that call my brain couldn’t handle it. I said I would do what I could and hung up. There was personal info she gave me that I have omitted, but I did in fact call a detective to ask what to do. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything since she was already in a hospital and there still wasn’t enough information. I did leave her name and the number.

Next, I called the food company and explained everything. They then called the number themselves to get to the bottom of this. I wished them luck as they put me on hold.

They returned a few moments later heavily confused. They said they also reached a woman, but she was saying the building was infected with COVID and it needed to be sealed.

O_O EXCUSE ME?

That was NOT what I was expecting. I continued the call, and the rep canceled all the other food orders. Apparently, there were quite a few coming to me. They told me they called the sister companies and canceled those orders as well. They think it was some kind of scam someone was trying to pull but we couldn’t understand how that would work. Only one of the orders had been paid for and they couldn’t track where the payment came from. The other orders had some weird payment pending limbo going on. Couldn’t track anything of those either. I have never signed up for a food service even though I’ve considered it. Luckily, they said I don’t have to worry, I won’t be charged anything. Considering I haven’t purchased anything.

We finished up and ended the call. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the woman in the hospital. Was she real? Was what she was saying true? Did the detective call her? Should I have called someone back? Was the number on the box a number to a hospital room? If so, why? And who is this person whose name is on the box?! So many questions!

I decided it was better if I left it all alone and hoped the detective called the number I left with them.

I was happy knowing it was over and I wouldn’t get another box. I was also happy to know that there isn’t a person missing out on all these food orders during the holidays. That would have been awful.

Fast forward one more time to today. 12:30 p.m.

A get a knock on the door. UPS.

She said the bottom box was mine. I look down it says Factor 75 (a food company)

I go no, nope, NOOOOOPE!

This was the first time I caught someone delivering the one of the boxes.

I told them, I’m sorry but that box may be addressed to my apartment, but it is not mine. No one by that name lives here please take it back. She looked a little confused, so I gave her the short version of the story and she was even more confused but agreed to take the box back.

It’s strange because I’ve already called this food company once before and told them to cancel the orders. And if the other person called all the sister companies to cancel them how did this one get through?

Nonetheless I called them once more to cancel the order and all future orders.

Is this the end of the mysterious food orders? I hope so!
